Fractal thoughts - Design from The Pub

Haven't given a flying about politics, capital p or otherwise. We have been way too involved completing the vision of The Pub, something we dreamt up a long time ago and gave birth to in little and not so little ways. This might be the grandest way so far that w can achieve. If you haev been keeping up with this blog, you will know that the working title of "The Pub" is now the print title "Mashu oMusha" which means New Kwa Mashu.

Exhibit A: Dabi4. This was the third or so idea for the book cover, but it became the ladder rung for the next one, which will be the softcover release. Who knows what the final perfect bound print will look like?

But we are still working on it.Dabi4 was a fractal I designed within these simple parameters.

A little bit of photoshopping, color and light-rigging and shading and we ended up with the book cover soon to be released. But know this, it looks a lot like Dabi4. Check out the piece below. Sent this one over to my Korean Ressies connection, just because he's got a degree in Fine Arts. We jest, of course. The one below was sent to a couple of our connections and we wanted to know just how they felt about it. Do comment in the section below if you catch feelings

An evolution of the Mashu Oracle. We called this the 'unstable teething stage'.

The Mashu Oracle in its stable state. Though not discussed in the novel, it was my personal fractal I used to check on my level of progress within The Pub multiverse.

This was a visual representation of something I felt about the psychosomatic space of Mashu. Theere was supposed to a feeling of birth, post-birth, horror, growth and merging. The book was written over a couple of years, so the feelings moved with me as the stories moved. It was

The very first idea for the book cover. this was number one. Mashu Prime. I expected to add visual images to different facets of the fractal, or to animate it. Still thinking about using it in alternative media, or maybe mutate it and use different generations of this particular one.

A totally unrelated fractal painting. Really dig this one. it's been my wallpaper a couple of times this week alone.  Thinking of editing it a little more, but it's so beautiful as is.

For the record, these were done using Mamndelbulb 3D construction software, by yours truly. We involved other softwares and systems but it mostly came down to using Mutagen and some funky numbers games. The Science Fiction book tied to these fractals will be getting a national tour very soon. As soon as the 15 of February, actually. So watch this space.
